In design they specify the size, temperatures, pressures and flows for all items of equipment. In production they are responsible for ensuring that the products are made safely and reliably.
 
Chemical Engineers work in the food, beer making, pharmaceutical, and pollution control industries. Furthermore, they also work in finance, marketing, management, medicine and computing.
